The door slammed behind Ian as he stole past a few glaring students to settle onto the couch. He wore an aggravated scowl as he pulled out a battered book and began to read it. This didn't last long; soon enough he'd tossed it aside in an overdramatic sulk and now leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees and his chin on his hands. A dark cloud was pretty much a tangible thing to any one looking at him, possibly because of one girl's fleeting Mood Mantle Charm.

Killy didn’t even look up from where she was when she heard someone come in she knew who it was. She keep her eye on the paper in front of her till she couldn’t help but look up, well what ya know i was right, it is Ian [i/] Killy thought a smirk on her face. She watched him for second before getting up and sitting on the other end of the couch he was on. "Someone seems to be in a bad mood." She said dully still smirking as her faded green eyes stared harshly at him.

Ian's jaw worked as his head whipped up; he stared at her through a haze of disbelief. His blue-green eyes seemed to be covered in shattered glass . . .he was torn. Half of him wanted to plead brokenly . . .but slightly more than half fought its way out angrily and spat, "Someone seems to be a shallow whore." Immediately, the first half acted in shocked shame and covered his mouth with his hand, and he said quickly, "I'm so sorry . ..Killy . . .I didn't mean that . . .please . . "

Killy swallowed hard as she felt a mix of emotion fit her anger, sadness, and complete shock "Well you wouldn’t have said if you didn’t mean it." She said softly before her anger came up and her eyes brighten as she glared at him. "How dare you say that. How can you say that? What proof is there to either of those things Ian? You of all people know I’m neither shallow or a whore." She said louder now as she ran her hand through her hair. "You're starting to sound like the rest of the people in this school Ian....and coming from you it hurts more then coming from someone who doesn’t know a thing about me..." Killy then sighed turning her head; she couldn’t even look at him.

"Killy. Killy . . .look at me . . .I'm sorry . . . I'm hurting, I really am . . ." He swallowed slightly and reached out to her the barest bit, as though he could touch her anymore. Ian's eyes fell to the floor in shame. "Please forgive me . . ." The normal endearments he could no longer use tried to escape his lips but Ian forced them back. He added, unwise though it may have been, especially considering the source, "I-Brandon implied that you-maybe you left me because of such a thing-I want you to know that I told him you weren't like that; that you had honor . . . so I don't know why I let his idea get to me, maybe it eased the pain . . ."

"Your hurting....Your hurting?" She said still not looking at him, "That is no reason. You don’t think I’m hurting Ian? Just because i was the one that could see we wouldn’t work out and did the smart thing my ending it before we were both in to deep? I hurt Ian....i hurt a lot." Killy shook her head before her head sharply turned to look at him her eyes fire and had a slight shine from tears forming, "Brandon? Oh so that son of a gun is the one talking about me? He knows nothing besides my name." Killy said in her teeth gritted before she picked up the vase next to her and chucked it cross the room. "But i'm glad it eased the pain Ian though. Maybe you should listen to the asshole more often....maybe then you wont have any pain in your life ." Killy added bitterly and sarcastically, her temp was getting the best of her and this one of the unflattering sides of her.

Ian's fisted clenched at the sides of his jeans and he made a little sound as though he'd hit the ground in a rough fall. "Listen to Brandon? Do you even know the extent of his crazy theories? There's nothing sadder than a scheming Kinrick. How can you say we wouldn't work out? We were perfect . . . you're so perfect . . . if I loved you so much how could it not have worked? I was always there for you, I worshipped you . . . what more did you want? A couple of things here and there . .. we could have fixed them . . . give me another-" Ian focked back against the couch and bit his lip, a line of white cuttting through the pink of his lips where his teeth were pressed against them to bite back groveling words.

Killy looked soften as the anger left her body, her eyes fading back to forest green as she moved closer to him. "It wouldn't work Ian. Yes, your amazing and i couldn't ask anything more of you. It has nothing to do with how we were with each other, we were perfect. And i may never have someone as wonderful as you. I will always love for you Ian. . ." Killy said smiling at him and placing a hand on his leg. "but.." she said continuing "Their is something deeper and i know it cant work Ian...it just cant. No matter how much i want you or needed you...it wont work." She whipped the tears that slid down her face with the back of her hand. "I'm still here for you and will be whenever you need me. But that part of our relationship is over. . ." Killy looked for understanding in Ian's face hoping he would understand.

Ian's eyes lost the last of the anger that had tightened the corners of them. he leaned forward somewhat again, and said in a voice forced full of strength, "I will not change. I'm going to wait, Killy . . . you'll come around, you'll see . . . I will not beg but neither will I yield. I'm not just anybody. I think I'm pretty special, and when I want something . . ." He remembered those words from so long ago and lost his thought again. Lost it to a slew of memories; his head tilted downward as he ran them over in his mind. Not even realizing he was speaking aloud, Ian muttered, "Why does it seem so long ago? Why like another life . . .? What's happened here?"

"Yeah we'll see and of course your special i cant deny that" Killy whispered before her own mind wondered off to those loved and warm memories she had keep way and refused to let go. She played these memories often and found she'd been living in these memories more then real life itself. Killy couldn't allow herself to do this anymore because realistically she knew it wouldn't work and with time he would come to the truth too. "If only i knew, if only i knew," Killy responded to his muttering truly confused about most things at the moment but one thing she knew was her and Ian weren't meant to be.

"Am I going crazy? Do I belong locked up in some Muggle padded room?" he bemoaned, scratching at the dark red stubble on his cheeks. He exhaled loudly and shook his head, seeming to accept her words for now, at least on the surface. "The things people seem to say to me . . .well, Brandon at least but even so . . . no one has talked to me quite the same, and then again I think that's paranoia which would prove I'm mad . . ." he rambled, suddenly pushing himself up from the couch and walking over to a window, pulling at a heavy velvet curtain and brushing the sheer white one beneath it. His fingers lingered on the guazy fabric as he whispered loudly enough to be heard, "What's wrong with me?"

Killy shook her head as she watched him, "Nah, i don't think you belong in one. Your not that crazy." She said simply as she turned herself to look at him better. She had to admit she was worried about him now even more so now. "Brandon is a jerk who has nothing better to do then mess with peoples head. To say untrue lies and be a complete son of a gun. That is plain as black and white. And the scary thing is he knows what to say and do to make one believe or rethink everything you stand for. And nothing is wrong with you Ian. . .maybe...sometimes we just go through these things in life and it turns us upside down and all around. . .but in the end we find what it was that seemed to be bugging us."

Ian seemed to regain a little composure and laughed scornfully. "He's a fucking Kinrick, what should I have expected? My own fault for letting an otter mess with my head. So sorry, Brandon," he said to the closed window, as though his words would carry across the campus to their dormitory. "You're not getting to me again." Ian let the pale fabric slip through his fingers; his chin moved down so that he could stare at an unappealing row of deceased insects in between the inner and outer panes of glass, laying like scattered pebbles, encased in a limbo that had brought their doom. As always, his mind reached for something symbolic in that; if the bugs had been inside, they might have stood a chance, but for all they wanted to be inside, they belonged outside, and only there could they truly thrive. And in between . . .death was quick and tortorous. "But perhaps . . . even in Kinrick there might be a worthy soul or two . . . at least someone vaguely fascinating . . ." Ian allowed, turning his head to look at Killy with a warm smile, just like any of his friends, even though the sight of her flawless face made his stomach clench . . . well, some thought had done that; Ian assumed it was Killy.

Killy smiled "Well i personally think he's just a horrible person" she then paused thinking more in depth of what she said, she wasn't one to bad mouth people and always tried to say open minded but with Brandon she would be no such thing. What she said she believed was true and if Brandon did know what was good for him he would stay away from Her. "And it may have nothing to do with that fact that he is a Kinrick." She said finishing what she had started to say before she spaced off. "And Yes, yes I'm sure there are a few in Kinrick that are decent. Takes real special person to be like Brandon, wouldn't you agree?" Killy asked with a small smirk as she cocked her head to the side.

"Come to think of it, I really don't know Brandon all that well. You'd have to ask Ory . . . " Ian returned her smirk. "I suppose he is rather horrid." Ian obviously couldn't go into the sordid details of Brandon's plan without admitting his own intention or worse yet, what he'd been shown about the party. "He is special . . . we should all remember that . . . along with how lovely the boy looks in a lace bra," he joked, never tiring of that memory . . . his brother's spellwork.
