Brandon walked into the multi-purpose room, looking for a place to study. He grinned in relief when he found a large bookcase in the back corner. He walked over to it, found the book he needed, and walked over to a red comfy amrchair with it. He opened the book and drearily began to study

Though Lexi usually didn't like to study, she wandered into the multi-purpose room with a heavy book under her arm, stumbling slightly under its weight. It was nearly half the size of her, with the cover falling off, and when she dropped in on the floor, a small cloud of dust flew from it. Sighing to herself, she opened the Divination book and began reading about tea leaves.

Brandon waved his hand by his face, pushing away the dust cloud that had formed. "Jeez," he muttered under his breath. "Real nice person you are."

"Sorry." Lexi muttered back, though whether she actually was apologetic or not, it was impossible to tell. Instead of continuing any conversation that may have ensued, she lugged the giant book onto her lap, continued to read the chapter she had been assigned.

Brandon peered over to see that Lexi was reading about divination. "THAT'S you major?" he asked in disbelief. "You mean, you actually CHOSE to take divination? I mean, there were no REAL classes left?"

Lexi closed her eyes and counted slowly to five in order to try to control her ever-rising temper, but it was no use. He had said the wrong thing, and the superior edge in his voice drove her to near madness.
She slammed the book shut, glaring at the boy she hadn't even known for a few minutes. "You think you're so superior because you're probably taking the same classes everyone else does. Because you have no talent in seeing the future. Though, judging by the look of you, you have no talent, period."
She stood, seething, growing tired of having to defend her major. People just didn't understand the finer points of Divination. "Just because I chose to take a different route in my education than you did, does not mean that my major is any less.." She paused, searching mental lists for the right word.
"... any WORSE than yours. Mine, in fact, takes more talent than most classes, and builds off of that talent. Simply because it's not taught well in books, doesn't make it worthless." With that parting comment, she stormed off, settling down on the opposite side of the room and opening her book again.

This amused Brandon to no end. "really..." he said rolling his eyes. "Divination takes talent? Who knew?" He paused for a moment, carefully planning his next move.
He grinned, finally coming up with a plan. He summoned a giant vat of tea. "If you have so much talent," he called, "can you help me with this?"
He went over to her and dumped the vat of tea on her. She got drenched and he grinned as the tea ruined all of her belongings.
"So," he said with a smirk. "What do the tea leaves say?"

Lexi just sat there, the situation taking a few moments to set in. The tea trickled down the front of her clothes and lined her face, dripping slowly onto her now-soggy Divination book. Maybe it was the gentle dripping onto her lap, or the scent of the tea, or maybe her brain had just caught up to the rest of her, but she finally realized what he had done.
Tea. Everywhere. She closed her eyes and forced herself not to just stand up and punch him in the face. She was better than that, she wouldn't sink down to his level. He was such a rude, egotistical, inferior...
Screw it. Lexi stood, forgetting all about the wand that was stowed deep inside a pocket, and punched him in the face. Though she didn't appear it, she was strong, particurally from all those years of throwing the quaffle around in Quidditch. Glaring and breathing heavily, the tea beginning to seep through her shirt, she stood waiting for his next move.

That was the last straw. Brandon could be deadly when he was angry. Until now, he was just joking around. But now he was angry.
He rose his wand to Lexi's waist. "So," he said, smirking yet shaking with rage. "You must be really wet from all that tea. let me dry you off!"
With a quick flick of his wand, and the shout of "Incendio," flames appeared all over Lexi's body, engulfing her and would soon lead to her demise.

With some quick thinking-- she had always been decent under pressure, particurally when it meant possibly saving her life-- Lexi whispered "aguamenti" and allowed the water to flow over her, soothing her already-aching skin. Once the water had extinguished all the flames, she delved into her pocket and took out her wand. She had to move gingerly, for she was suffering some burns from the spell, and she knew her reflexes would be affected, but no one would hurt her and get away with it.
"Arresto Momentum!" she shouted first, slowing down his movements in general, so that the playing field would be even. Or, more even than it would have been, with his reflexes now slower than they would be as well. Then, "Furnunculus!"
She watched in amusement-- or, what would have been amusement, if she wasn't still suffering from the burns-- as boils appeared on his skin. Maybe, just maybe, he would feel some of the pain she was feeling at the moment.

Brandon laughed at her pathetic attempt. He quickly used "finite incantum" to remove the boils on his face. Then, he used the body bind spell (idk how to spell it, perficulous totalus or whatever) and laughed as she became as stiff as a board. He laughed, spat in her face, and exited the room

ooc- right... shut up...
Lexi, wand in hand, quickly thought the words "Finite Incantum", and to her relief, could feel herself move again. The crash to the floor had caused more pain than he probably even realized, and she could feel little spurts of blood mix with the water already soaking her shirt. Her eyes filled with something like revenge, she stood and kicked open the door, to find the boy walking away.
"What, leaving so soon? Are you scared?" she taunted, her temper at a point she hadn't even imagined it could be at. "Think I could beat you? After all, I am only a Divination major." she called sarcastically down the narrow hallway, her taunts echoing off the walls.

Brandon rolled his eyes. "Oh yeah," he said sarcastically. "I'm so scared of you, the person who doesn't even have the decency to dress herself." He used diffindo to cause her clothes to rip, and a group of fourth years who were passing laughed hysterically at this.
"You're in way over your head, kid. I suggest you leave."
