Maggie walked onto the feild, noticing how large it looked from here. From the stands the feild didn't seem so large, but now, Maggie felt very small. Maggie just realized that maybe her attire didn't exactly suit a Quidditch practice. But after some thought, she figured it'd be ok. She wouldn't be moving her legs too much, so the jeans wouldn't be too much a problem, and the t-shirt was loose and comfortable, and didn't restrict her arm movement. Not knowing what to do, Maggie threw her bag to the end, and looked around. Noticing a shack, she figured that was where they kept the brooms. She walked over and opened the door, and immediately coughed from the amount of dust. Examining the brooms, she concluded they were all at least 10 years old. She eventually picked out a broom that seemed the best out of the selection. She took it out and waited for Lexi.

Lexi flew out from the locker rooms onto the pitch, and for once, she looked graceful. That was what flying did to her; she was a completely new person up in the air. Sitting comfortable with both legs hanging over the same side of the broom, which was neatly polished and clipped, she smiled at Maggie and opened the large box she had been holding. "What position would you like to play most?" she asked, already working on unstrapping the Quaffle from the box.

"Um ..." Maggie thought for a moment. Keeper seemed like something she could do, but that would restrict her from flying too much and she liked to fly, especially fast. "I guess I could try Chaser?" Maggie felt a bit uncomfortable. This was an area she knew little about. She was used to being on top of things.

"Sounds good. Think fast!" Lexi called, chucking the ball towards Maggie. Since the girl was still on the ground, Lexi assumed that it was a safe measure; if she caught it, she truely did have the makings of a chaser. If she didn't... Well, a few minutes at the Hospital Wing would fix her up, as good as new.
She hovered a bit higher, staring intently at Maggie, in order to see first-hand how fast her reflexes were.

Maggie's head snapped up, as her mind stopped thinking for a moment. Her eyes caught on to the bright red ball coming towards her, and her volleyball reflexes instinctly leaned her body to the left. Her left arm reached and attempted to grab the ball, which proved too tricky for one hand. It actually bounced off her hand, but she clamped her hand over and brought it to her side, tucking it under her arm.

"Definately not Keeper." Lexi muttered to herself, crossing off the word in her mental checklist. "No offense." she added kindly, in a louder tone as she realize that it may have sounded rude. "But you've definately got the makings of a Chaser. Let's try some shots."
Deciding to act as temporary Keeper, Lexi tore off through the air, coming to a halt in front of the three goal hoops on the far side of the pitch, looking at Maggie expectantly, waiting.

Maggie sighed, trying to keep her face from reddening. So far, her encounter with Lexi has left her with the impression that Lexi was a very nice, and laid-back person. She just noticed this was a completely new side of her, a mildy obssesive -no, obssesive was the wrong word. Maggie realized that this sport was something Lexi was very passionate about. Which was very cool, only Maggie got the thought that she might be stuck here for a very long time. Maggie kicked off from her broom, with the Quaffle still under her arm. The flying part was fine, she was good at it. Well, she didn't fall off. The broom was a bit uncomfortable, and she never steered wih one hand, but she concentrated real hard and flew in front of Lexi, looking like she actually knew what she was doing. She awaited instruction, not knowing if she should start throwing, or what.

Lexi could tell that she had to concentrate hard in order to keep the quaffle securely under her arm, and made a mental note of it, but wasn't disappointed. Flying with one hand simply took practice, and that was what they were here for.
She positioned herself correctly on the broom, straddling it with both hands off of the handle, and continued watching Maggie. She had been stationary for a few moments too long, causing the realization to hit that she was waiting for her intruction. Of course, she was the Captain.
Smiling to herself, she nodded and called out to her new-found friend and potential Quidditch player. "Ready whenever you are!"

Maggie took a deep breath. She knew she had absolutely no skill in the Quidditch area, but she knew she had some skills in other sports. She had an idea, remembering a few times she would play flag football with the Muggle boys in her town. If that had taught her anything, it was that she was agile, and she had good aim.
Eyeing Lexi before her, and suddenly faked left, and threw right.
Never throwing on a broom, she lost balance for a moment, and grabbed her broom handle, and looked down, not seeing if the Quaffle went in.

Lexi, having fallen for her fake, shot to the left and realized too late that she was faking. The quaffle flew just pased her outstretched fingers, soaring through the hoop. Quickly retrieving the plunging ball and flying back up to playing height, she smiled warmly at Maggie.
"That was brilliant. Try another one." She tossed the quaffle back to her and gripped the handle of the broom with one hand, attempting to anticipate her next move.

Maggie actually caught the ball. It's wasnt that hard once your learned how to hold it. The Quaffle seemed to be made out of some substance that resembled rubber, so it was easy to grip.
She took both hands of the handle slowly, and held the broom steady with her knees. This wasn't so hard, she thought. All she had to do was not move her lower body. Now, with both hands free, she tossed the ball from hand to hand, wondering what to try.
Noticing Lexi was floating slightly above the middle post, she threw the Quaffle as hard as she could, straight under Lexi.

Lexi had followed Maggie's gaze, and she dove slightly, whacking the quaffle back to her with the end of her broom. She had only just made it on time, however, as the speed of her throw was faster than she had expected.
"Good, but not as good as the last one. Try not to let your eyes linger on where you're throwing it. Either stare at the keeper, or try to fake him by looking in the direction of another hoop."

Maggie again caught the ball and this time and thought again.
She got a crazy idea, and being Maggie, once she had a crazy idea, she just had to follow through with it.
Staring straight at Lexi, her lip curled slightly. She threw the ball straight up. Both thier gazes followed the ball as it descended and Maggie hit towards the right post in a volleyball serve.
Unconventional. Yes she knew. A bit reckless. She knew that, too.
But if she hadn't done that, it'd be going against everything that made her ... well herself.

Lexi laughed as she watched the ball soar into the hoop, making no move to try and stop it. Whether she would have been able to or not was unclear, but she found it didn't matter as she smiled at the girl. "Brilliant. Though I probably wouldn't do that during a game, if I were you."
She bent low as she went into a steep dive, retrieving the ball and once again returning to playing height, then tossed the quaffle back to Maggie. "You definately have the makings of a chaser."

"That's very encouraging, thanks." Laughed Maggie. "This turned out to be a pretty fun. Not the mortifying, embarrasing experiance I expected." Now, not holding anything, Maggie felt very comfortable holding onto her handle with two hands. She was once again in her comfort zone. She wondered if they were going to try anything else, or if they were done for the day. Either way, Maggie felt a little adreniline rush, of accomplishment. This was actually a really cool sport.
