Moments of a daze went by at last, and he only saw her after she was smelling the flowers, not having considered any part of her abrupt ending in conversation.
"At least you didn't continue pretending to be someone else. It's not always what they want that's going to work out. But other than that, is there something else about yourself that i'm missing out on?"
There was no way he could've brought up another subject as mindlessly but it happened so he just looked at her with an expression that mixed apology.
