Tyler strolled through the courtyard, his hands in his pockets as he wandered alone slowly. Mindless of himself as his mind grew sound, starting to block out anyone else's presence; accidentally kicking a pebble but not looking at where it had travelled. He stopped where there was a curved arch to his left and beneath which was rich with white and bluish shades; the scent of rosemary filling as he turned the other direction and looked out at the vast distances beyond the courtyard. Only seeing a fraction because the view was covered and to be admired on the balconies. Extravagant and plain plants, flowers, colours surrounding but not catching his attention as his gaze moved to a window above.

Carmina watched the boy wander around the courtyard from a balcony, the wind blowing her almost translucent white dress around her tanned body, and her long dark hair around her face. As the boy looked up toward her she smiled mysteriously, but said nothing.

A figure had appeared before his eyes, speechless from the unreal vision until his mind did focus and tell him she was there. For a moment longer, he looked with blankness then began to study the girl in the thin white dress that seemed to be flowing almost giving him a ghostly chill. Lifting his hand to meet the wind, he half waved to her as his hand remained remained in the air a second too long to mean decision since he didn't know what to do or say yet; he could only gesture and smile in return.

Carmina watched the boy from the balcony a bit longer, then made her was over to a rusty metal staircase. As she walked down the stairs the wind blew her skirt wildly around her long toned legs, she glanced over at the boy as he was still looking in her direction. Carmina walked slowly towards him, her vibrant green eyes locked with his.

His eyes travelled as far as she came down the staircase, winding and walking gracefully as the wind blew, taking his interest in looking at her with flattery away because he noticed how intense her green eyes were. He took his hand down, leaving it casually at his side but keeping the other in his pocket as she came closer; just enough so he could talk and be heard without needing to raise his voice.
"Hi..."

Carmina continued to study the bioy as she walked towards him, not stopping until she was a few feet away,"How do you do?"she said with her thick spanish accent as she extended a hand towards him.

Blinking from her response, he literally stared in a daze wondering where she was from since she seemed so foreign and formal. Reaching his hand out to shake hers, he smiled so that it was a smile that curled sideways, looking amused but speaking unsurely.
"I'm ...good? How are you, yourself?"

"Very well,"she told him gently shaking his hand. "My name is Carmina Saavedra,"she told him.

"Carmina? Nice to meet you; you can just call me Tyler." Pausing after shaking her hand, he released the grip and furrowed his eyebrows slightly in thought before he simply asked. Inconsiderate of the fact that they had just met and he should know better or at least already guess her home from her accent. "You're not from around here are you? Where are you from?"

She smiled, glad that he seemed to show interest in where she was from,"I was born and raised in Mexico,"she told him, a hint of sadness reflecting in her eyes. She was home sick, this place was much more different than what she was used to. She looked away from Tyler for a moment, not wanting him to see the sadness in her eyes, when she felt she was okay again, she looked back at him a smiled widely.

Though he had watched her eyes for some time, he didn't manage to glimpse anything from them and obviously nothing came when she looked away. If he had seen any hint, he'd have worried for about what he had said, start his usual overthinking. When she smiled widely however, his eyes widened more roundedly and tilted his head alittle quizzically. "Mexico? I've never been there but it must be a nice place; i couldn't think of where you came from so i just had to ask. Don't think i've ever heard someone speak to me with such a strong Spanish accent?"
Not wanting to bring up the subject of whether she would miss home, he decided not to ask for a comparison of how she felt about this place and spoke more rhetorically.

"Do you not like my accent,"she teased him. "Yes, Mexico is a beautiful place..."her eyes became unfocused as she remembered her home,"We have beautiful mountains there,"she told him sighing slighltly. For a moment she stared silent thinking of home, but suddenly snapped out of her trance like state,"Anyways, here at Knockwood, it is beautiful too,"she said to Tyler, gesturing around her.

He laughed lightly before coughing a fake cough; rather like clearing his throat to recompose himself and answer her seriously. There was nothing like listening to a spanish accent and yet she had teased him about it, leaving him without a choice but to tell her his opinion, discreetly so it didn't seem like he only wanted to compliment people all the time. "Yes i like it; it's different and will stick in my memory for a long time to come."
Her gestures amused him even more though she was not a sight he gave up to comic or entertainment; she was definitely not that and he didn't even know why he was so puzzled yet smiling dumbfounded. "It is beautiful here i'll agree, but it must be nothing like Mexico. I've never been there and now i'm thinking it might be interesting to visit."

"Maybe one day, I will take you there,"she told him smiling brightly her eyes twinkling in the bright sunlight. "Shall we," she said extending a bent arm,"Take me on a tour of this, what do you call it? A... a... jardin is what they call it in spanish, but I don't know in English,"she said blushed a little bit, embarrassed that her english was not that good.

Surprised again, he looked at her arm then extended his own almost jovially and looked around then back at her as he started walking. Seeing her blush made him take a smaller step though and he decided to pace the promenade. "Jardin in Spanish? It is in french too to mean a garden. This is more like a courtyard...and it's okay if you don't know, i'd try answering as best as i could unless i didn't know what the answer was or something."
