Tyler ran ahead of Lexi as they neared the dorm and eventually came to where the stone entrance of Everard commons were, standing and waiting for her with her bag still over his shoulder. Grinning as she came only a few steps away, knowing there was no password to their dorms and he could just enter.
"What does your dorm look like?" He was curious but it didn't mean that he had to drag time on with her since it was late; he could just see it another time unless they didn't want to part now or just yet. Once again having questions that would start another conversation though there was not much time.

Lexi, grinning as she watched Tyler run ahead, caught up soon after. His question surprised her slightly, but she shrugged, lightly grabbing his hand and walking through to her common room. It was late, but she oddly found that she wasn't tired yet. Well, not enough to stop talking to him atleast.
"It's very green." she said, then laughed slightly at her response. Of course it was green; she was an Everard, it had to be green, that was her House's color. "D'you want to see it?"

"Green? A complete contrast..." He repeated and muttered to himself and then looked at her alittle incredulous but more curious than ever now. "Yea, i'd like to." There was no password; no rule that said he couldn't but the idea of entering such a different environment did somewhat have an affect of uncertainty in him; it was something that he couldn't help but it was only a mere hint since she was as friendly as ever. Nothing to feel out of place about, though he guessed Wolfsbane students didn't enter other dorms often and had their own individualistic airs about their red dorm.
Accepting her lead, he took her hand too as she stepped through to the common room, looking around with a feeling close to amazement.

"Alright, let's go then." Without dropping his hand, she made her way through the common room which, not surprisingly, was empty. Due to the lateness of the hour, and the fact that many of the students' classes were early the next morning, most people were probably asleep, or finishing last-minute homework in their dorms.
She lead him up the tightly-spiraling staircase that lead to the girls dorms, then, when they reached the top, pushed open her door.
When she had said green, she really meant green. Towards the back of the room lay a bed covered in a dark green blanket, accompanied by a green dresser along the same wall. Against a large window on the opposite side lay green curtains, which ruffled slightly in the gentle breeze, issuing from the open window. The walls, however, were white, which was a nice change from the boring green shade. Quidditch posters covered the back wall, and against it lay her broom and her Divination books.
She looked expectantly at Tyler; it must be a big change, as he probably was used to the red rooms at Wolfsbane, and she hoped that it wasn't overwhelming.
"It's a bit like St. Patrick's Day everyday in here." Lexi admitted, a small smile towards the corners of her lips.

Everything was green; she was living in a field of green everyday and night but it seemed she liked it alot. For awhile he was overwhelmed but grew used to it and started taking and noting the details of furniture around her room, realising the styles and textures were quite different from his dorm. It was a nice change; big change but a nice and interesting one. Meaningful too in his case; he needed to see more colour than just blood red and shades of scarlet or even umber.
"It is very much like that. My dorm would make people feel like they were bathing in wine all the time. How drowsy yet dramatically waking it can be; very different to your room. But my favourite colour is green. No joke." He hadn't taken his eyes off the area nor released her hand which he had held without a second thought; though if she pulled away, he'd free her from a light grasp of course. "The white makes the green stand out even more..."
The cieling was high and he had too many things to look at and admire at once to take a break and talk to her straight; his mouth slightly open as if awe inspired and waiting to have too many words pour out, just having none similar to what he wanted to express.

"Yeah, green's my favorite color too." Lexi admitted, smiling and gesturing with her free hand around the room. "But I guess you can tell."
She made no move to release his hand, and didn't give it any thought. He didn't seem to mind, and she didn't see any harm to it. If he grew uncomfortable, she would obligingly release her hold, but for now, it wasn't a problem.
She lead him away from the entrance to the room, as if to give him the real feel of it. The different shades of green were eye-catching, and still a bit overwhelming, even to her. But it was her home, and Lexi was obviously comfortable with it.
"Your room is all red then? I'd figured as much, you seem like the kind of guy with a red room." She smiled at him, but made no explanation of her comment, leaving him to wonder. It was then she noticed his dazed expression, and her smile grew fractionally brighter. "Is it that awe-inspiring?" she asked, amused by his expression.

His shut his eyes tight then flung them open and smiled, turning back to her and tilting his head to think about how inspiring the method of colour co ordination had been applied to her room. So many shades of green that was soothing to the eyes regardless of the brightness since the materials of objects differed.
"It is..kind of." He said this as if it was matter of fact but obviously was only something he would come up with thinking; something in his opinion only unless that view was shared. Walking with her, he he scanned everything in his sight, eventually noticing how her books were mostly about divination and their various techniques of practice but saying nothing of it. Having her comment about the colour of his room circling in his head until he let the question emerge fully.
"It's all red. Well, mostly red anyway and of different shades like here. But how is it that i seem like a person with that kind of room? Makes me wonder what coloured rooms some other people should have now."

"Well, red usually symbolizes power, and strength. To me, anyway. You seem the kind of guy that would like waking every morning to the feeling of strength, as it probably energizes you, and makes you excited for the new day." It was purely her opinion, but she said it in a matter-of-fact tone, though made sure that he knew she was open for his views on the matter.
She looked around her room again, trying to see it from his view, as if it were her first time. It seemed slightly artistic, in a way, which was odd because she was rarely viewed as an artistic type. Stubborn, opinionated, and a dreamer, yes, but hardly ever artistic.
She turned back to face him and smiled, then realized they were both standing in the middle of her room. "D'you want to sit down or something?" she offered, then glanced at the window. The sun had been replaced by the moon and millions of stars, shining down and lighting the room. "Unless you want to get back to your dorm and sleep, that's alright too." She didn't want to make him feel pressured to stay, and left the decision solely up to him.

"That's true, i submit myself to wanting that kind of thing actually. Always have, basically even craved it. Red does make you sleepless sometimes though since it's so vibrant. Green is alittle better but blue would make me sleep the whole time or rather dream too much." What she said was very analytical of psychology and it was correct that he wanted and liked waking to that belief and sensation. If the red had not been able to make him excited for a new day, he'd have stayed in the room entirely since he wasn't a morning person and wasted his night away in some random way.
He knew she wasn't one to regard herself as artistic. Somehow she just appeared to not express such interest but it didn't matter to him since he had yet to learn about her or even from her. Gaining knowledge and experience as the hours flew.
The daze was finally able to break away completely now, contradicting all his previous efforst to shake himself awake. He smiled more brightly at her then looked past towards to window where it showed how the darkness had fallen and twinkling stars had crept onto the blanket of black.
"I could sit but only if we need to? I don't mind really. And tell me if you're tired, i can always leave you to your rest. Sleep is meaningless to me half the time and my dorm will still be awake now anyway. It helps that i won't have to deal with them."

"No, I'm alright. I could live without sleep for a few more hours, or however long you wish to talk with me. And we can stand." As they had sat on the ledge for hours previously, she had no desire to sit down, but had offered in attempts to make him more comfortable.
"So, tell me," she started, slipping one hand into her pocket, the other still loosely holding his. There was a comfortable air to the room and their conversation itself, making it easier for her to talk freely. "What is it you like to do? What makes you happy?"
It was a blunt question, she knew, one that would make him think. She had a habit of asking these types of things, and waited patiently for him to respond, her gaze not straying from his face.

Drawing a breath, he raised an eyebrow and contemplated, dwelving too deep within his mind again as he felt her looking at him but remained undisturbed in any way. In a futile attempt, he actually bit his bottom lip, pursing it somewhat and trying to think straight without opening to an answer that had too many loose ends that would need tying in the end. "Many things make me happy but it isn't difficult to let myself be satisfied or contempt. I have many interests, whether it was sport or just an activity. They're just not usually what people would take as something to make someone happy? Possibly, though i wouldn't know what someone else thought about it unless they knew."
It was too brief a reply; too vague and indirect. A form of answer that would make the usual people around school frustrated; only people who'd understand tended to become fast friends with him.
"uh...You know i like art, i'd draw you or paint you some day. I think i'd like to do that. As for anything else, i'm not very specific in describing my interests so you can take that i'm pretty much like everyone else. I just have greater ambition. I like believing in things that some people wouldn't find reasonable under certain circumstances." There could just be simple things he liked doing of would make him happy; even right then as he thought and turned back to gaze at her normally; as if this wasnt going as deep as he had let it fall, by accident.
"Is there something that would make you happy? What makes you happy? Now that you've asked me the question...you can tell me? What do you like to do? Anything?"

"What do I like to do..." she repeated, as a statement rather than a question, thinking hard for the best possible answer.
"Well, I like playing Quidditch, and Divination, as you know, of course." She paused to gesture to the posters scattered along her walls, and the stack of Divination books lined against her back wall. However, these interests were too obvious, too shallow, and she felt the need to explain things he likely didn't know about her. Things that were not simply on the surface of her personality.
"I like the stars in general, honestly. I love how each day you can go outside and just gaze at them, and you'll always have missed something, and you never grow bored. I've always wanted to kiss someone under the stars." The statement was thrown out casually, as she continued. "And I love the smell of rain. Most people try to tell me that rain doesn't have a smell, as it's only water, but I've never seen it from their perspective. Even water has a scent."
She realized then that perhaps she was seeming a bit strange in his eyes, and she looked down at her feet, biting her bottom lip. "Sorry, I kind of ramble sometimes..."

He was now smiling like a dumbstruck child again but didn't look away from her as she avoided him, occupying herself with looking at her feet because she probably felt awkward or something; in his eyes anyway. " You don't ramble and if it's only sometimes it's fine, right? I ramble more than you do.."
Having listened to her, he had a different feeling about the room and atmosphere, even the posters as they seemed to just prove there was more meaning behind everything she said or did. Every little gestures or hint that he liked to push away because he was unsure of himself and just messing with his head with overriding assumptions.
"Quidditch is fun. You know i like it to as well, we'll just have to play against each other sometime. And Divination... you study alot..." Trailing off, he decided to walk towards the window but only took a step before he recognised the feeling of her hand in his and paused but only slightly pulling.
"The rain does have a smell though, i've smelled it and it isn't bad. Everything has a taste, feeling, sense or smell even when it's probably too faint for some to notice. They're just missing out... and you must be glad your room lets you see the stars so clearly? Maybe one day you could be with someone under them like you always wanted." Shrugging slightly but barely noticeably, he was still looking at her and waited for her to look up.

Lexi felt the gentle pulling of his hand from hers and looked up, noticing that he was still looking at her, and probably had been all the while. However, she was feeling less awkward than she had before, and she smiled up at him.
"Yeah, one day soon we'll have to play against eachother. Hopefully, the season will start soon... I haven't flown in ages..." She trailed off slightly, remembering his last comment. "And yeah, maybe I will." Her voice was soft now, or softer than it had been before. "It's so nice to have a room like this. I can see the stars every night, and the window's big enough so that if I wanted to see them more clearly, I could climb out and fly around. That's why I keep my broom here..." Her words trailed off again, and she quickly glanced at her broom, before turning her gaze back to his.

This time, when she looked up he minded his pulling and stoppedwhere, not proceeding to drag her to the window or anywhere else even when he could. Seeing and thinking she had smiled a great deal the entire day; how he had said it was nice when people smiled wasn't just uncanny coincidence for the reasons he liked to point out whenever he saw a genuine smile. There was just nothing to say about it and he probably would never mention her smile at some random time.
"It'll start soon..." Inclining his head alittle like a nod but only once, he thought his ears had decieved him when she spoke more quietly. Such a soft voice he could fear for a time it would be found faded away. "Flying around from your window is so convenient...though maybe you shouldn't do that so often since no one would know if anything happened." It was only a word of caution that came out of nowhere and he tried to stop himself because it was such a misfitting mood for concerns such as that.
