Lexi smiled at his compliments, looking back up at him, though still running her fingers along her ankle. Maybe it was just something to do with her hands, but she found it was hard to stop. But it didn't matter; it wasn't as if they were going anywhere just yet.
"Thank you." she said sincerely, sensing he probably had more to say, and more that he just didn't want to. That was the thing about her question; he would probably think about the answer for a while now. It was flattering, in a way, for he'd probably be thinking of her even after they parted, even if it was just to answer the question.
His seriousness surprised her somewhat, for she expected a joke to be thrown in along with his true response. That was just the type of character she had assumed he was, but with the deep topics they were diving into, it was a pleasant change. One for the better, she found, for this type of conversation.
"Why would I have to be patient with you?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as she tried to figure out his meaning behind his final comment. Patience, though usually not one of her virtues, could be forced into her, and she didn't feel that happen this time. She didn't force herself to be patient, like usual...

He gave her running hand, along her slim and shaped ankle a glance, then smiled sideways in a way much like a smirk and yet without the pride, looking at her face more often than around him.
"You're welcome, but i meant what i said. And i know i'll have even more to tell you as we get to know each other." It was all in good time and he'd get back to her about all the other things he could still tell her. With have better explanations or supporting evidence to emphasise that what he told her tonight, was very realistic; it was a sure thing and he would want to tell her the reasons that made him enjoy flattering her too but he had to start flattering her first, and when that happened, it was unpredictable. It wasn't just flattery and compliments that he wanted to shower her with though, but that was something she deserved, not only for all she puts up with, in his opinion.
There was nothing to joke about now, but he would when there was a need to lighten things up again since they both tended to dwell on deeper subjects or topics. Only, for now, he wasn't going to be able to say as much as think; it was like her responses were challenging but he rather liked them, and would try to push himself as far to get the perfect statements, perfect answers and most reasonable theories. How hard that was he had no clue and didn't stop to think about; what was perfect anyway?
"I'm difficult, complicated, concerning and impossible at times. It can be quite hard for people to be patient with me. It's just you who manages alittle too well, at the moment; which is why i say so much to you. Though it's a good thing ...how you continue would fascinate me."

"I fascinate you. That's interesting..." she said honestly, trailing off as she, once again, became lost in her thoughts.
Fascinating. It was a word that was definately good in this type of conversation, but for some reason, caused her to think. It was much like the word "interesting": not particurally flattering in and of itself, but for some reason, felt right in a conversation this deep. But, perhaps it was delving too deep for her.
"I'm just fascinating? Not beautiful, not the center of your world yet? I'll just need to try harder, I suppose." Her words were painted with a teasing tone, one obvious enough so that he knew she was just joking, but not obvious enough to seem obnoxious.
She smiled at him-- he seemed to be making her do that a lot lately-- still tracing the bones on her ankle absentmindedly. However, she was no longer focusing on the trailing motions of her fingers; her eyes were drawn solely to his face, every once in a while glacing at the ever-falling sun. It had grown much darker, the night falling fast, and scattered stars could be seen throughout the deep blue sky. She knew she would have to go soon or risk being caught out of her dorms, but for some reason, made no move to get up. A few more minutes with him, one who interested her to no end, couldn't hurt.

"Oh..." Basically, he was thinking that 'interesting' and 'fascinating' were quite well related to eachother and he was surprised she responded with that word. That word that he often liked to use as a response or answer and statement while no one else did and she was one of the first few to do the same. His eyes widened as his mouth made the shape of a small, surprised exclamation before he laughed and put a fist over his lips to stifle it and clear his throat quietly, grinning uncontrollably. "Not just, but the centre of my world? You want to be at the centre of my world? I think you are beautiful enough to not need to try though..." It mocked him, teasing and he could only be true now; if she asked more, he believed he was quite sure he'd answer all, word spillingly.
He could see her glancing at the sunset ever so often and knew she was considering the time, giving himself just a few more minutes to wait until the last second before he'd have to her back to her dorm; just because he wanted to and not because it was duty. Not like there was a problem there, he'd be allowed at her dorm and if anyone questioned; alittle prefect authority would be helpful. "I know you have to go soon and for these last few minutes i'll tell you that this was one of the weirdest but turned best days of my life. And funny you'd be one to save me from being lost but it couldn't have been someone else."

Lexi grinned like mad at his obvious attempts to stifle a laugh, and she hopped down off the ledge. It was a graceful movement, one that showed she had leapt quite a few times in her life, both in the metaphorical and literal sense. Looking directly into his eyes, she raised an eyebrow slightly, looking pleasantly skeptical, and leaned both elbows on the spot on the ledge next to him.
"I'm beautiful enough not to try? That's sweet, thanks." She said nothing more on the subject, though the tone of her voice suggested supressed thoughts and questions. If he didn't want to let her know what else he was thinking, it was his decision, and she didn't want to appear nosy.
"It was one of the best days of my life too." Lexi answered honestly, smiling and looking directly out into the sky, as though slightly embarassed to be admitting it. "I'm glad I could help, but I didn't really do much of anything. Talking to you is so easy, and it feels a bit like I can't say anything wrong anyway. You saved me as much as I saved you."

"And so we should talk more some time, anytime soon or again. It is so easy with you too but it wasn't as much of me saving you as you did for me. I'm sticking with that but thank you and you're welcome too." He was slightly shocked with her abrupt graciousness to what he said and had a flitting intention to ask or repeatedly state he had meant his words, stopping himself because he had done so many times over already and it wasn't like she was pressing on the matter. Perhaps, it was better to keep his thoughts to himself and only let the occasional slip ups or complimenting and saying things he wanted, to happen.
"You can't say anything wrong anyway? There's no right or wrong factor in our conversations and we both seem to accept different points of views creatively so it's hopefully only going to get easier talking." As he looked back at her, leaning her elbows and facing out on the balcony that painted an image of an angel in his mind; it was so strange of him to think that way, almost forbidden but he had to let himself watch her and jumped off ledge too.
"Do you want to go now? Or until all red has faded from the sky? It'll be dark down this passage..."

"I don't care either way... Maybe we should leave now." She didn't know what words were escaping her lips until it was too late to retract them, but for some reason, she didn't mind leaving now. Goodbyes were rarely forever, and with all of the classes Lexi took, she felt certain they would see eachother again, even if just in passing.
She grabbed her bookbag, which lay forgotten in the corner, and slung it over her shoulder. "You don't need to walk back with me, if you don't want to. I'm a big girl." she joked, returning her gaze to Tyler. "But, I won't be upset if you choose to walk me back, it's always nice to have some company. Especially someone I get along with so well."

"Hah! As if i'd leave you to walk back on your own at this time. But that's nice of you to tell me you wouldn't be upset, just in case i did have something wanting to kill me run down the hall and i had to escape. I always knew you were a big girl anyway Lexi; i just like treating you differently from the independence you are accustomed to."
Saying this and emphasising the last few words, he took her bookbag without even asking, smirking before slinging it over his shoulder to carry it. Then he gave her an apologetic look that was almost a complete with the feigned innocence act, as if telling her he was sorry he grabbed her precious bookbag. Assuming books were very important to her and that for someone who liked divination; they must have been quite extraordinary.
"I'd hope you get along with me well, always."

Lexi didn't even bother stifling her laugh, which was for both the innocent act that he was obviously trying so hard to attempt, and the apologetic look he had given her when he grabbed her books. "I like my independence, thank you very much." she said in a fake-stern voice, yet made mo move to grab her books back. She began walking down the hall, without looking back to see if he had followed, though knowing he had.
ooc- well i g2g, we'll continue later, if u want to make a thread at my commonroom, or continue here, or whatever. ttyl.

Indeed he had followed, walking only two steps behind her, a stride short and carrying the bag weightlessly. Her fake stern voice had made him laugh but he had calmed himself again and knew she was only joking; that his quite hopeless acting skill and faking had amused her, taunting her from behind.
"Yes, i know you pride that and i like it too, but you know you don't have to thank me soo much."
ooc: sure, i'll make the thread. ttyl!
