There was definately something wrong with the entire student population, Lexi thought as she trudged along the corridor, where people were gathered in small groups to gossip. It was a beautiful day outside: the sun was shining, the birds chirping, and still, nearly everyone was inside. Granted, there was a rather important exam the next day in Herbology, but she had thought that atleast some would have studied outside. Or, well, not at all.
But, there was no such luck. The library was packed to brim with frantic students, pulling out books on Herbology in last-minute attempts to cram knowledge into their brains. Lexi was in half a mind to insist that cramming never worked, but, with some effort, she had left without a word. They didn't need to hear it from her; they would see it on their grade.
Finally, Lexi came across the sun-room, and cautiously pushed the door open. Revealing the room brought a smile to her lips; empty. Finally, a place to study in peace. So, she perched herself onto the window sill, impatiently pushing a strand of her dark hair behind her ear as she read.

Alex heard the door open to the Sun room. His head turned in the direction and noticed a familiar face. Lexi I think her name was. He said to himself. He was sitting in the opposite corner hidden by the glare of the sun off the window glass. If you were to look directly in the direction you would see nothing but sun, though if you were to look from a different angle you would be able to see him sitting with a leg hanging off the side of the window sill and the other drawn up into his chest with a book propped up against his knee.
He smiled slightly looking in her direction. He noticed she looked relieved in thinkning this room was empty. He didn't want ot ruin her fun by announcing his pressance so he just sat there and continued reading his book, slightly shifting his postition to get more comfortable.

Lexi, having heard the soft sound of clothing against stone, inwardly groaned as reality sank in. No, she was not alone in the room. But, at the very least, he wasn't talking nor annoying her endlessly, so she looked up and squinted around the room, trying to find the source of the noise.
Upon closer examination, her gaze finally fell upon a boy, seated near her. Amazed at the fact that she hadn't noticed him before (and hadn't even felt his presence... she took this personally, as she was a Divination major), she smiled weakly at him. "Hey." she offered, squinting against the light that was pouring through the window. "You're.. oh, hold on, I knew your name..."

Upon hearing someone speaking snapped Alex out of his reading state. He looked up and listened to Lexi speak. He smiled and offered, "Hey. Yeah, I'm Alex. We met, and I tried to convince you I was a vampire." He said laughing slighlty at the memory in the Greenhouse. He snapped his book closed and swung his leg off the sill and sat with his arms resting on either side of his body holding himself up.

Lexi struggled to remember their meeting, but after a few seconds, she nodded. Her smile grew fractionally wider as she recalled the vampire incident. "Oh, I remember that. And I called you cute, and you claimed that your vampire family would disown you. It was a cute conversation." she said bluntly, drawing her legs up against her chest.
"I'm Lexi, by the way. I probably told you that before, but you may have forgotten. I don't really remember if I'd introduced myself, anyway..." She trailed off, the smile sliding cleanly off her face. Weren't her friends always telling her to get out more? All of the studying she'd been doing had started affecting her memories of whatever social life she'd once had, so she looked apologetically at Alex, closing the book on her lap gently.

Alex grinned as she remembered their conversation. "Yeah, cute and vampire don't always go together." He laughed. Alex nodded indicating that she had told him her name, "yeah, I knew your name. You're not someone I would forget too easily." He told her simply, with a shrug.
He noticed her smile slide off her face and Alex started to think he was boring her. He squinted against the sun and his eyes were starting to hurt a little, so he stood and sat right next to her. 'There, now I can see you properly." He said with a small smile. He looked at the book in her lap and wondered what it was, and then wondered what could possibly be on this girls mind. He looked at her intently trying to read her.

You're not someone I would forget too easily. So he was one for blunt honesty as well? Having not found many people who would say what was on their mind that easily, Lexi smiled once more at him, a hand held to the right of her eyes in order to try to block the sun and see him.
Though, it was much easier when he slid over next to her. She blinked a few times to clear her vision, then lowered her hand slowly. "Much better." she agreed with a small nod, though faltered a bit under his intent gaze. He was trying to figure her out, she knew, because countless people before him had tried doing exactly the same thing, but it rarely worked. So, she only lowered her gaze back to the cover of her book and stroked it gently, waiting for him to come to some sort of conclusion.
After a few silent moments, she glanced back up and caught his gaze. "So, what have you figured out about me?"

Alex thought for a moment, clearly puzzled by her question. So, she must have had more than just him look at her like this, trying to figure her out. "Well clearly by the way you look at times, I would say you don't like stupid questions." he ssaid hesitantly, not quite sure if it was true. "I know you are a blunt person. You say what's on your mind and don't really care if it's too honest." He sat back and thought more. He couldn't read her too well but he could decude a few things. "You like the quiet. when you study, you probably think the throngs of people out there, or the entire student population is crazy for waiting so long to study for our Herbology final." he said and closed his eyes, thinking that the only reason why he was in the sun room was because everywhere else to study and have peace and quiet was overfull with idiots who wait til the last minute. "How am i doing so far?" He asked opening his eyes to see her reaction.

Lexi was smiling as he began reciting what he'd decided about her. She wasn't exactly the most difficult person to understand, as her heart was typically worn on her sleeve, but she was often surprised at how horribly people depicted her. Alex, however, had managed to put her main personality into words, something the countless other people hadn't been able to do.
"You're doing brilliantly." she said in all honestly with a small nod, her eyes bright with something like admiration. "People usually can't manage to do what you just did. I'm impressed." She drew her legs a bit closer to her chest now, and wrapped her arms around them, her smile growing a bit wider.

Alex drew himself up in pride. "I was always good at doing things like that. And it also could be because you're alot like me. We have a lot in common." He said smiling and slumping back against the window. He watched her smile grow wider and it became contageous. He grinned so wide his cheeks started to hurt. He looked away from her to draw himself together.
Alex brought one of his legs up and rested his chin on his knee. He looked back over at Lexi and tilted his head to the side. "As much as i can list off about you... there seems to be this barrier I can't get through. Do you put up walls to keep people out? or am I just hitting the "I'm a girl barrier" So that would be where I get utterly confused and say Girls mystify me." He wondered looking at her with a smile and twinkling eyes. (does that sound weird...?)

ooc- hah, a bit. but nothing all too strange.
Lexi thought his question over for a few silent moments, looking down at her shoes. She'd always been a bit distant around people, likely because she'd always been absorbed in one book or another. She glanced back up at him and found that he was still watching her as she delved into her brain, and was still smiling. Vaguely, she wondered how his cheeks didn't hurt, smiling that long, but she assumed it was just one of those things she would never understand about people.
"I don't know." she said finally, with a small sigh and a smile at his tilted head. "I've always been like this, I think. I just understand books more than I do people, so it's just been easier avoiding the latter altogether. Until this year, of course, seeing as how I've been talking with loads of people lately..." She trailed off with a slight shrug, giving up on explaining.

Alex frowned, "So you don't like to talk to people? Socialism is a major part of life. You don't want to become a Hermit. So it's good that you've been talking to people more." He told her simply he tunred away and looked at the ground. Alex sat and thought about how he used to be before he decided it was time for a change. Anti-social and a real ass. He never spoke to anyone and he hated life for being so talkative. He couldn't even begin to fathom how he had gotten out of his slump. He didn't even remember how it had happened so quickly. He just needed the right motivation. He cringed at his past and sighed deeply letting his problems fall off his shoulders, feeling lighter.

"Oh, no, I didn't mean that!" Lexi started, realizing that her entire explaination had described her as some sort of loner, which she was not. "I have no problem socializing with people at all. I just don't have the time. I take basically all the classes this school has to offer... anyone will tell you the same thing. I'm always studying. So it's not entirely by choice... I do get out whenever I have the chance to..."
Noticing his sigh, Lexi began to fear she'd said something wrong, and wincing slightly before turning back to the cover of her book, though not actually seeing it. She really had no problem with people; did she come across as that? Slightly worried now, she left him to his thoughts and traced the cover of her book with a finger, refusing to look up now.

Alex nodded, understanding what she meant. 'I see." he said snapping out of his thoughts. 'Well as long as you don't choose to be anti-social. Because thats a really stupid move. Trust me." Smiling slightly he slid his hand over to her book and lifted the cover. He couldn't really make out what it was so he shrugged and dropped it lightly back down. Watching her with her head still down he thought of what he could do to get her to look back up, or at least smile. "Well, I got nothing." Alex decided tossing his hands in the air. He stood and stretched and layed down on the cool floor. "Please don't be quiet around me." He said almost inaudible.

As Alex reached over to lift the cover, Lexi simply stared at his hand, and was surprised as he let it drop without even a comment. Deciding that he probably couldn't make out the title in the harsh glare from the sunlight, she mumbled "It's Divination.", then noticed that he had stood up.
Thinking he was leaving, she was entirely surprised when she heard his whisper, barely audible over the shouts and laughter coming from the corridor outside the room. Risking a glance up, she noticed that he hadn't left, like she had expected, but had instead laid down on the floor. She smiled slightly, then fell into her thoughts once more. How to respond to his plea?
"I won't." she promised, turning and allowing her legs to dangle off the edge of the window sill, so that she could face him.
